Chance Feldner

Boise Police Officer Chance Feldner, son of slain New Plymouth Police Officer Ronald Wade Feldner, speaks Tuesday afternoon outside the South Idaho Correctional Institution after a parole hearing for the person who murdered his father in 1994.

The Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole on Tuesday denied parole for James Robert “Bobby” Lee Moore, citing the need to protect the public; Moore, now 39, was 14 when he shot to death New Plymouth police officer Ronald Wade Feldner in 1994. Feldner, 29, was a father of four. At Tuesday’s hearing, more than a dozen uniformed police officers attended to oppose parole for Moore, including Feldner’s son Chance, who is now a Boise police officer himself, writes Idaho Press reporter Tommy Simmons.
