1. Field of Honor: The opening ceremony for the annual event is Saturday at 10 a.m. The field features hundreds of flags in front of the Airborne & Special Operations Museum in downtown Fayetteville. The flags honor veterans, living or deceased, and current military members. Flags are available for $25 per honoree. They may be purchased at the museum gift shop, by calling 643-2778, 643-2773 or online at shop.asomf.org. The flags will stay up through July 7. Proceeds benefit the Airborne & Special Operations Museum Foundation.

2. Electronics recycling event: Recycle your e-Waste on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Cumberland County Courthouse parking lot, 117 Dick St. Recycle broken or unused electronics, including televisions 32 inches or smaller, DVD players, computers and small kitchen appliances. The items will be collected by Cumberland County Solid Waste Management.

3. Walk to End Lupus: The Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter is hosting its ninth annual Walk to End Lupus Now: Fayetteville on Saturday at Festival Park, 335 Ray Ave. Check-in begins at 9 a.m.; the walk begins at 11. There is no registration fee, but each walker is encouraged to raise or donate $100 or more. To register, go to lupusnc.org or call 877-849-8271.

4. Party in the Park: The town of Stedman hosts its annual Party in the Park today from 6:15 to 10 p.m. and Saturday starting at 10 a.m. in Ernest Freeman Park on Front Street. The band Rivermist performs tonight, Saturday's activities include kids' games, laser tag, arts and crafts vendors and performances by Brittany McLamb, Tommy Edwards and the Bluegrass Experience and The Tams.
