SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (Clark County) – Nurse Practitioner Douglas Shrewsbury was indicted on 11 counts of Aggravating Trafficking in Drugs and nine counts of Aggravated Possession of Drugs on July 10th, according to State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy Executive Director Steven W. Schierholt.

The State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy began a joint investigation with the Springfield Police Department and the Ohio Board of Nursing in July of 2017 in response to claims that Shrewsbury was allegedly operating a pain management clinic without an appropriate license and issuing prescriptions for controlled substances illegally.

Simultaneous search warrants were conducted at Shrewsbury’s office and home in November of 2017, both located in Springfield.

Prescription drugs were seized, as well as patient records. No arrests were made during the search warrants.
