Strangulation case among latest Preston County indictments

KINGWOOD, W.Va. — Thirty-nine people are under indictment following the close of term for the Preston County Grand Jury.Douglas Tyler Robinson, 26, of Masontown, WV, was one of several notable indictments. Robinson is accused of strangling the same woman twice in a series of days in mid-July and twice on the same night.

The grand jury indicted Robinson on one count of attempted first degree murder, one count of wanton endangerment with a firearm, four counts of strangulation, two counts of interfering with emergency service personnel, one count of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, and two additional misdemeanor charges.

Robinson remains in jail in lieu of a $100,000 cash or surety bond.

Additionally under indictment, Robert Victor Danser, 37, of Reedsville, who was arrested in 2016 after police say he failed three sobriety tests following an accident. At the time of the accident, a woman and an unrestrained child were passengers in the vehicle. Danser had also admitted to snorting a Percocet before the accident, according to police.

Donald Carl Stout, 68, has been indicted on numerous felony charges.

A third man, 68-year-old Donald Carl Stout, was indicted on first degree sexual assault, three counts of sex abuse by a parent, third degree sexual assault, two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, one count of child abuse resulting in injury, one count of attempted second degree sexual assault, and two counts of failing to register as a sex offender.

Stout is wanted by authorities in Preston County.

Former Preston County dog warden Brittaney Rishell Shearer, 32, of Reedsville, and her boyfriend, former Sheriff’s Utility Officer Robert J. Bragg, 45, also of Reedsville, were both indicted with child abuse resulting injury.

The charges were a result of an April 18 incident at South Preston School where an 11-year-old girl told others she had been physically abused by Bragg.

17 of the 39 people indicted are facing various degrees of felony drug charges.
