Search committee appointed for new Salisbury University president

University System of Maryland Chancellor Robert Caret appointed a presidential search committee Friday to find a new president for Salisbury University.

Janet Dudley-Eshbach announced in February she would step down from the position in June after 18 years leading the university.

University System of Maryland Regent D’Ana Johnson will chair the search committee. She will be joined by fellow Regent Robert Rauch.

The committee will include Salisbury faculty members William P. Burke, James Buss, Helena Hill, Arthur Lembo, Deborah A. Mathews and Sarah Surak.

The committee will also include civic leaders Mike Dunn, CEO of the Greater Salisbury Committee; Julia Glanz, Salisbury’s city administrator; Edwin Lashley, Salisbury University chief of police; and Robert Moore, chair of the Salisbury University Foundation; student leaders Brittany Kesteven and Cearrah Sherman; and Leonard Raley, vice chancellor for advancement for the University System of Maryland.

USM officials estimate the search process will take about six months.
