FINAL SCORE

The Eagles got screwed in an overtime loss to the Cowboys, 29 to 23. Philadelphia is now 6-7 and their hopes of winning the NFC East are essentially over. Fuck this season.

OVERTIME

Cowboys 13th drive: Cowboys move the ball beyond midfield with the Eagles struggling to tackle Zeke. Brandon Graham draws a hold but the Cowboys pick the yards right back up to make it 3rd-and-9. Prescott dumps down to a wide open Cooper on a crossing route for a first down. Cowboys into field goal range. Zeke is stuffed on 3rd-and-1 to bring up fourth down. Bennett was the first guy to get there. Cowboys decide to go for it. Dallas has to call a timeout. Zeke runs forward and the Eagles can’t stop it. First down for Dallas with the clock continuing to tick. Cowboys get to 3rd-and-8 as the clock gets down to the 2-minute warning. Douglas breaks up Prescott’s pass but Cooper catche the deflection and runs it in for a touchdown. Lmao. Unlucky as hell. Cowboys win the game, 29 to 23.

Overtime coin toss: Eagles call tails but it’s heads. Cowboys up first in OT.

FOURTH QUARTER

Cowboys 12th drive: Prescott overthrows Gallup down the field again with Douglas beaten deep. That brings up 3rd-and-2 from the Cowboys’ 38-yard line. Prescott’s pass is incomplete but Corey Graham tackles Blake Jarwin and is penalized for holding. First down. Eagles continue to play soft and allow the Cowboys to move into long field goal range. Prescott recovers a low snap and the Cowboys lose six yards. Big loss there. Cowboys call their final timeout with 16 seconds remaining. On 3rd-and-12, Prescott is SACKED by Cox and that’s the end of regulation!

Eagles 12th drive: Wentz takes a shot to Jeffery but the diving receiver can’t hold on. Goedert takes a catch and runs it into the end zone but it’s wiped out by a SUPER WEAK offensive pass interference call on Goedert. The refs just don’t want the Eagles to win this game, man. Wentz is sacked but Gregory is called for roughing. Wentz gets sacked again but the Cowboys are called for defensive holding. Agholor burns Byron Jones deep and makes a great CATCH along the sideline to put the Eagles at the 2-yard line. Big time throw from Wentz. Wentz keeps the ball on first down and is tackled for a 4-yard loss. Wentz throws to Sproles short of the end zone and the veteran fights for a TOUCHDOWN! Doug Pederson decides to go for a PAT kick instead of two. Don’t love that. Hate the Cowboys having a penalty and the Eagles not going for two from the 1-yard line even more. Tie game, 23 to 23.

Cowboys 11th drive: Prescott airs it out deep to Cooper and De’Vante Bausby and Corey Graham are burned for a Cowboys touchdown. Lol. The Eagles just have nothing left in the secondary. Cowboys lead, 23 to 16.

Eagles 11th drive: Eagles take over at the Cowboys’ 47-yard line. Wentz throws to Jeffery for a first down. Wentz throws a great ball (best all day) over the middle to Goedert in a tight window. Huge. Eagles have 1st-and-goal from the 9-yard line. Adams run to the 3-yard line. On second down, Wentz throws to Goedert AGAIN for a TOUCHDOWN. Please just throw to him every play. Jake Elliott BARELY makes the extra point. Tie game, 16 to 16.

Cowboys 10th drive: Bennett tackles Elliott in the backfield. Cooper drops the Cowboys’ second down pass. Prescott airs it out deep and Jones is easily ROASTED but it’s overthrown. Once again, thank god Dak isn’t actually good.

Eagles 10th drive: On 3rd-and-5, Wentz throws behind Tate and the pass is broken up. Three-and-out.

Cowboys 9th drive: Sidney Jones whiffs on tackling Zeke, who takes a catch and runs for a first down. Zeke is penalized for lowering his helmet on Coregy Graham. But the Cowboys get a first down on the next play with Jones falling down in coverage on Prescott’s completion to Cooper. Zach Martin is hurt and has to leave limping, not good for Dallas. Zeke also getting his head checked out. No matter, Rod Smith is having success carrying the ball for the Cowboys. Prescott targeted Cooper for another first, Jones beaten again. Prescott airs it out and Jones is beaten by Cooper once again in the end zone for a Cowboys touchdown. Cowboys lead, 16 to 9.

Eagles 9th drive (continued): Eagles at the Cowboys’ 23-yard line. Wentz’s first down throw to Ertz is incomplete. Wentz throws to Tate but the Eagles accept a roughing the passer penalty on Randy Gregory. Eagles at 1st-and-goal from the 8-yard line. Eagles run a delayed handoff to Sproles but Ertz is called for an illegal block in the back. Philly backed up to the 17-yard line. Wentz’s pass for Jordan Matthews put the Eagles at the 11-yard line. WENDELL SMALLWOOD TAKES A CARRY FOR SOME REASON ON SECOND DOWN?! Looks like Wentz checked into a run, so play call not on Doug, but why is Smallwood even in the game?! He (rightfully) hasn’t had a touch in the last two games! On third down, Wentz throws short of the end zone to Ertz and it’s incomplete anyway. Wentz was locked in on No. 86 all the way. Eagles settle for a red zone field goal. Ugh. Tie game, 9 to 9.

THIRD QUARTER

Eagles 9th drive: Eagles throw a screen to Goedert for a 6-yard gain. Wentz throws a little behind Jeffery but the receiver drops the catchable ball and takes a big shot to the ribs. Wentz calls a timeout with a big third down coming up. On 3rd-and-4, Wentz runs for a 1-yard gain. Too slow. On 4th-and-3, Wentz throws to Sproles for a CLUTCH conversion and then some! 23-yard gain there to end the third quarter.

Cowboys 8th drive: Brandon Graham makes a nice tackle on Zeke to bring up 3rd-and-8 from the Eagles’ 44-yard line. Bennett strip-sacks Prescott on third down and Brandon Graham recovers! Somehow, the refs determine the Eagles recovered the ball this time!

Eagles 7th drive: Wentz throws to Jeffery on the play that got him a touchdown in the first Giants game earlier this season. Then the Eagles try to celebrate after failing to do shit all game (WHY???) and the Cowboys break it up. THE EAGLES CAN’T EVEN CELEBRATE RIGHT.. Then Jake Elliott misses the extra point, because of course. Cowboys lead, 9 to 6.

Cowboys 7th drive: Cox dominates Zach Martin (!) with a bull rush to sack Dak. Prescott has a ton of time to throw on second down, he overthrows Michael Gallup, and it’s picked off by Corey Graham! Graham returns it to the 2-yard line. THANK YOU DAK!

Eagles 6th drive: Adams runs for a 1-yard gain. Wentz to Jeffery for a first down along the sideline. Wentz throws to Ertz for a 7-yard gain. on second down, Wentz’s screen throw to Agholor is too low and the receiver can’t catch it. C’mon, guys. Someone make a play.. Wentz throws to Jeffery on third down and the tightly covered receiver can’t bring it in. Another punt.

Cowboys 6th drive: Cowboys march down the field into goal-to-go territory. Prescott’s third down rushing attempt is stuffed and the Eagles force Dallas into a 21-yard field goal. Good job by the D. Cowboys lead, 9 to 0.

Eagles 5th drive: Well, the Eagles get the ball to start the second half. Will they actually do anything with it? Eagles get to 3rd-and-9 and Wentz overthrows Ertz. Lol. This offense fucking sucks.

SECOND QUARTER

Cowboys 5th drive: Prescott almost throws a pick to Corey Graham on an overthrown ball meant for Beasley. Prescott checks down to Zeke, who puts the Cowboys into field goal range. Brandon Graham draws a hold on Tyron Smith to push Dallas back. The Cowboys attempt a 62-yard field goal and naturally Brett Maher makes it to end the first half. Cowboys lead, 6 to 0.

Eagles 4th drive: Wentz to Nelson Agholor for a 7-yard gain. Refs make Jason Kelce come out of the game after the center is hit in the head. Wentz throws to Ertz for a first. And then again. And then Wentz is strip-sacked from behind and the Cowboys recover. Holding on to the ball for too long. Amazingly, the refs were able to determine a clear Dallas recovery!

Cowboys 4th drive: Cowboys stick with the run and it’s working for them. Dallas moves into Philly territory. Prescott has all day and hits Amari Cooper to move the Cowboys into the red zone. Josh Sweat is hurt and the Eagles are down to just three defensive ends. Cowboys get to 3rd-and-13 and Prescott runs but there’s a holding penalty. Dallas backed up to 3rd-and-23 and Douglas makes a very good tackle on a Cowboys screen play. Cowboys attempt a 45-yard attempt and it’s NO GOOD! Phew. Good job by Pederson to accept that hold on third down instead of just taking the fourth down

Eagles 3rd drive: Wentz indecisively runs for a yard on first down. He throws to Alshon Jeffery to bring up 3rd-and-1. Eagles run an option play on third down and Wentz is tackled for a loss. Hate that play call against the Cowboys’ rangy defense.

Cowboys 3rd drive: Eagles get the Cowboys to 3rd-and-6 but Prescott converts with a throw to Zeke. Needed that stop. Zeke breaks off a big run. Prescott to Cole Beasley for another Dallas first. Prescott throws into the end zone ... and it’s PICKED OFF! Rasul Douglas with the interception. Needed that one! Thank god for Dak still being bad.

FIRST QUARTER

Eagles 2nd drive: Eagles start at their own 36-yard line after a nice kickoff return from Corey Clement. Wentz checks down to Sproles for a short gain. Wentz bobbles a shotgun snap from Jason Kelce and it’s ultimately caught in the air by Clement, who is tackled for a loss and then injured. Ugh. On 3rd-and-11, Wentz sails a pass despite Tate being open. Stop overthrowing everything, Carson.

Cowboys 2nd drive: Struggling to even focus on the game as I think about that non-recovery call. Cowboys methodically drive into field goal range. Fletcher Cox hitting Dak Prescott in the neck puts Dallas in goal-to-go territory. Prescott is tackled by Michael Bennett for a loss on first down. Prescott’s second down thrown is incomplete out of the end zone. Prescott checks down to Ezekiel Elliott on third down and the Cowboys settle for a field goal. Sidney Jones goes to the medical tent, not great. Cowboys lead, 3 to 0.

Eagles 1st drive: Josh Adams runs for an 8-yard gain, great job of fighting through contract. Then he’s tackled for a 2-yard loss. Carson Wentz to Zach Ertz for a first down. Adams stiff arms Jeff Heath in the face and then cuts back for a 24-yard run, great block by Golden Tate to spring that one. Darren Sproles runs for a 2-yard gain. Wentz overthrows Dallas Goedert on second down. The rookie tight end had a step on Leighton Vander Esch. Wentz is sacked on third down and the Eagles have to punt. I still can’t get over that BS fumble non-call.

Cowboys 1st drive: Cowboys field the opening kickoff and Malcolm Jenkins strips it for an Eagles recovery! Wow, what a start! Kamu Grugier-Hill, talker of trash, with the recovery! But wait, the refs rule it as Cowboys ball. Doug Pederson challenges and it’s determined there’s no clear recovery by the Eagles. WHAT THE FUCK? BULLSHIT! At least karma prevails (somewhat) with the Cowboys going three-and-out. Sidney Jones with tight coverage on Amari Cooper on third down.

Coin toss: Eagles win the toss and elect to defer. Cowboys up first.

GAME INFORMATION

And so it comes down to this.

Despite the fact the Philadelphia Eagles haven’t been very good this year, they’re right within reach of having the NFC East lead with just three games to play.

The goal is simple: Beat Dallas.

It won’t be easy. Nothing is for this year’s Eagles team. But beating the Cowboys isn’t some impossible task, either.

The Cowboys are red hot after beating the Saints. It’s true. But they’re not THAT far removed from being a 3-5 team that looked on the way to having another lost season.

Of course, it was the Eagles who bailed the Cowboys out and allowed Dallas to get their season back on track. Now it’s time for Philadelphia to right their wrong and make a push for the playoffs.

Will the Eagles step up or will Sunday be next great disappointment? Only one way to find out.

Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch the game.
