Forget your mancave set-up with surround sound and subwoofers—if you want to really enjoy the some celebrated movies' soundtracks, head to Lincoln Center to listen to the New York Philharmonic perform the scores from many of Pixar's movies, including the Toy Story trilogy, Finding Nemo and Wall·E, in Pixar in Concert. Clips from the films will be screened along with the live musical accompaniment.
Music from A Bug’s Life; Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University; Finding Nemo; The Incredibles; Cars and Cars 2; Ratatouille; UP; and Brave will also be featured. Collectively, all fourteen films' scores have earned 3 Academy Awards, 10 Academy Award nominations, and 10 Grammy Awards.
John Lasseter, chief creative officer at Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, said, "Music, to me, is one of the most important things to give a movie emotion. Lighting, color, and music are all things I use as a storyteller." Like the cheese and strawberry scene from Ratatouille—or most any scene from Wall·E:
