Oregon State Fair's 2017 concerts: Country, rock stars coming to Salem

Country star Trace Adkins will play at 7 p.m. Sept. 2 at the Oregon State Fair. General admission is free with fair admission.

Editor's note: The Salem Symphony concerts at the Oregon State Fair have been canceled due to poor sales. Those who bought tickets will be contacted by the state fair for refunds.

A group of big-name country stars, plus Joan Jett, Eddie Money and rock group Third Eye Blind are among the acts that will play The Oregon State Fair this summer.

Like last year, general-admission seating is free with paid entrance to the fair, which runs Aug. 25-Sept. 4. The one exception is Sunday performances by the Salem Symphony, which is $10, $5 ages 11 and younger and $40 VIP for Aug. 27 and $19, $9 ages 11 and younger and $39 VIP for the Sept. 3 concert.

“In keeping with our tradition of bringing the perfect mix of musical genres to our end-of-the-summer party, this year’s lineup is one of our best ever. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the artists who are coming to the fair,” said Dan Cox, Oregon State Fair spokesman.

Limited VIP seating is available for $35 for most concerts. Fair and VIP tickets can be purchased starting 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, at oregonstatefair.org. Advance fair tickets are $6 adults or $5 ages 6 to 11. After Aug. 26, prices rise to $8 or $6. Ages 65 and older are always $1, and opening day will be $2.
