Crystal Lake Park District Offers Day Trips for Adults

Most trips open to anyone ages 18 & up

Let the Crystal Lake Park District make it easy for you to travel with your friends. We provide the transportation and drop you off at the door. The Crystal Lake Park District offers special events, trips and weekly programs and activities for senior citizens and adults. Registration is accepted up the posted registration deadline as long as space is available. Registration in advance is required. Registration is accepted at the Crystal Lake Park District Administrative Office, located at One East Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake, or online at www.crystallakeparks.org.

Crystal Lake Park District Trip Policy:

In order to keep trips affordable, the CLPD co-ops with the Wauconda, Barrington, Grayslake, and Lindenhurst Park District. Departure location is dependent on numbers registered at each Park District. Every effort is made to leave for the trip from Park Place. Transportation may be in a park district van, mini-bus or motor coach. Motor coach trips are noted in the brochure. Cancellation policy: Refund will be given if the request falls before the cut-off date less the $5 service charge. If the refund request falls after the cut-off date, no refunds will be given unless a replacement is able to be found.

Alan Gresik Swing Shift Orchestra and Lunch

Elmhurst, IL

Ages 18 & Up

It's 1939 and we are on the air! The 15 person Alan Gresik Swing Shift Orchestra is reminiscent of a live big band remote and will transport us back in time to a spectacular old time radio show. The Swing Shift Orchestra specialized in unique, vintage arrangements from the 1930's and 1940's and delivers fox trots, tangos, waltzes, ballads and of course swing with an authenticity and vibrancy which has not been heard since the golden age of American dance music..

Lunch included: chicken with potato and vegetable, dessert, soup, salad, rolls and coffee or tea. Registration deadline is October 1.

Jumer's Casino & John Deere Trip

Rock Island, IL

Ages 21 & Up

Jumer's Casino in Rock Island is the place to be for exciting Las Vegas style gambling, including slots, table games, poker and gambling machines. After gambling, experience the past, present and future of John Deere at the John Deere Pavilion. Check out some of the largest, most technologically-advanced farm, construction and forestry equipment in the world. Then head over to the John Deere Store for collectibles. Transportation via van to Crystal Lake. Motor coach transportation from there to Rock Island. Registration deadline is October 15.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast at the Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace, IL

Ages 18 & Up

Based on the beloved Academy Award-winning Disney film, this nine-time Tony nominated musical continues to win the hearts of people all over the globe. Trapped in her provincial life, a young and intelligent beauty risks everything to become the heroine of her own story and break a wicked spell imprisoning a castle of enchanted misfits and a terrifying beast.

Lunch included: Please indicate whether you would like seared chicken, Roast Turkey with Stuffing or 8 Finger Cavatelli.

Registration deadline is December 5 (space permitting.) Transportation via Park District bus.

Day at the Dole

Ages 18 & Up

Step back in time to explore the Dole Mansion and its colorful history. The mansion was built during the Civil War and was purchased in the 1920's by Mrs. Lou Ringling, widow of the circus family's eldest brother. Today it is Lakeside Arts Park and features art galleries and performing arts to delight visitors. Spend a day at the Dole to experience its history, art, and music. Program includes presentation on the local history/politics, tour of the mansion, lunch in the Sage Gallery and concert in the Listening Room.
