A Teller man was found stabbed to death after authorities say "multiple people" witnessed his murder.

Alaska State Troopers in Nome received a call at 4:30 a.m. on July 14. The caller evidently informed them that, following an incident in the small Alaska village of Teller, William Johnson, 31, of Barrow, had been killed.

Following an investigation, troopers arrested the man they say is responsible for his death. Frank Lee, a 43 year old man from Teller, a small village roughly 70 miles from Nome, was arrested on charges of first degree murder in the stabbing death.

The motive behind the stabbing is not yet known, nor are the events that led up to the killing. However, troopers said that multiple people witnessed the stabbing, which aided in identifying Lee as an initial suspect.

In a dispatch report, troopers said Lee was medically evacuated to Anchorage and later arrested on a $100,000 warrant for murder.

This is a developing story and will be updated with further information.
