CALMAR, Iowa — A Hawkeye woman was killed and a Decorah man was injured in a motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 52 near Calmar on Friday.
Trish Ann Taylor, 44, of Hawkeye, died in the accident, police said. The injured person was identified as Jay Michael Jermier, 45, of Decorah, the driver of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Both were transported to Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah.
The Iowa State Patrol said the accident was reported about 4 p.m. on U.S. Highway 52 about two miles north of Calmar.
Troopers said Jermier was northbound in a construction zone where the road surface was uneven. He crossed into the southbound lane and lost control.
The accident remains under investigation.
