Richard Machamer says a clogged sewer drain overflowed onto his yard in Susquehanna Township for the 21st time in two years.

“We got our downpour and my whole yard was under,” he said. “It got to my yard, both sides of my house, and the whole yard.”

The township used a machine to unclog the drain. The public works director says this is the first time he’s heard of storm drain issues near the 3600 block of North Sixth Street. However, the township says it’s not uncommon for storm drains to overflow.

Machamer says the township told him they would fix the storm drain this spring. The township says fixing more old and aging drains is part of its comprehensive plan.
