George Nolfi, the writer and director of The Adjustment Bureau and screenwriter on Ocean's 12, The Bourne Ultimatum and Need For Speed has signed on to direct a new biopic about the life of the late martial arts superstar Bruce Lee.

The film, titled Birth of the Dragon, is set to begin shooting next spring. It tells the story of Lee's real-life, no-holds-barred fight with  famed Chinese kung fu master Wong Jack Man, and is set in a 1960s San Francisco Chinatown controlled by Hong Kong gangsters.

As with the  super-entertaining 1993 Bruce Lee biopic Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, it looks like this film is going to blend some of Lee's actual biography (the duel with Man) with fiction ( Lee and his student battling a faction of Triads) and, we can only hope, some gratuitous fighting sequences.

Nolfi, who's also attached to direct the Darren Aronofsky-written thriller XOXO, seems like a good choice to helm the movie, but the real challenge on this one is finding an actor who can take on the role of the legendary Bruce Lee.

If all else fails, there's always the Johnie Walker-loving CGI Lee from that Chinese whisky commercial
