The Flat Rock Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a runaway juvenile.

The missing person is Faith Jonell Simpson, age 12, who left her home in Flat Rock about 4:30 a.m. today, according to a informational poster issued this afternoon on the department’s social media.

Faith is described as a white female with brown hair and brown eyes; 5 feet and 1 inch tall; and about 120 pounds. She may be wearing a long dark blue coat that has black fur around the hood, carrying a dark backpack.

“Faith is known to walk to family members houses in the area, including Southgate,” the notice said.

Anyone with information about her location is asked to contact Flat Rock Police Department at 734-782-2496.

Under current State of Michigan procedures, a statewide AMBER Alert is only invoked when a missing person case meets specific criteria. Local law enforcement agencies can issue their own alerts as appropriate to other missing person cases, such as was done in this situation.
