NEW PALTZ >> Members of the New Paltz Police Department will participate in the American Cancer Society No-Shave November fundraiser, the department has announced.

“The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free,” according to a press release.

They ask supporters to donate the money you they would usually spend on shaving and grooming for a month to educate others about cancer prevention, save lives and aid those fighting the cancer battle.

All donations will benefit the American Cancer Society.

“Every year we lose more friends and loved ones to this terrible disease. We must continue to fight this disease, find a cure and continue to save lives.” Chief Joseph Snyder said in a prepared statement. “We are excited to participate again for the third year in a row. Last year we raised $3,185 and this year we hope to surpass that amount for this great cause.”

To make a donation on behalf of the New Paltz Police team, visit www.no-shave.org or https://no-shave.org/team/NPPD where donors may choose to support the general team or pick one of the team members to support.
