Sensex rallied 727 points and Nifty closed above the 20,000 mark for the first time since September 18 driven by buying in heavyweight HDFC Bank, Axis Bank ICICI and TCS on expectations of more foreign fund inflows.

Rupak De, LKP Securities said, "Nifty has largely traded within a range, showing a predominantly bullish sentiment. Over the past two to three days, a 'buy on dips' approach has been loved by the street since the Nifty crossed the crucial 19,500 mark. The trend is expected to stay positive as the Nifty consistently concludes trading sessions above the critical moving averages. Support levels are situated at 19,630/19,500 on the lower end, while resistance is placed at 19,850/ 20,000 on the higher end."

"Nifty has now fallen below the critical 21-day Exponential Moving Average (21EMA). The sentiment appears bearish at this point, with a key support level identified at 19,600. A breach below 19,600 could potentially initiate a more significant market correction. On the upside, 19,800 is expected to serve as a resistance level," said Rupak De, Senior Technical analyst at LKP Securities

Positive momentum in heavyweight Reliance Industries (RIL) and bank stocks also provided a boost. Except for the Media index, all the sectors participated in the rally. Experts opine that, unlike earlier moves, the current rally is broad-based with constant sector rotation
