Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Hudson Valley Crash

The initial investigation suggested the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed, police said.

CLAVERACK, NY — State police are investigating a serious accident that occurred Wednesday on State Route 23 in the Town of Claverack. Around 3:57 p.m., troopers were sent to a crash involving a motorcycle on State Route 23 west of Donnely Road.

The initial investigation suggested the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control attempting to avoid colliding with another vehicle.

The operator and sole individual on the motorcycle was Thomas P. Golden, 34, of Copake.

He was ejected and sustained serious injuries.

Golden was air lifted to Albany Medical Center by LifeNet.

The investigation is ongoing.

State police were assisted by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Churchtown Fire Department, Greenport Rescue and the Claverack Fire Department.
