He was that good.
On a night when it seemed like everything was conspiring against the 76ers – Ben Simmons continued to sputter offensively, Joel Embiid struggled again from the field, no 76er starter shot a free throw until seven minutes were left in the game, Furkan Korkmaz and Shake Milton both kept missing – Curry was magnificent.

He shot 6-for-9 from 3 for 24 points, and his three 3’s in the first 134 seconds of the third quarter sparked a 12-0 run that gave the 76ers the lead for good.
He may have saved the season.

Maybe to a lot of people around the country he’s the “other” Curry, but not tonight.

I LOVE SETH CURRY PART I: Curry has now shot at least 40 percent from 3 with at least five attempts in seven straight games going back to Game 5 of the Wizards series. That ties an NBA record he now shares with Raja Bell in 2006 (with the Suns, not the 76ers), Steph Curry in 2015, Kyle Lowry in 2018 and Klay Thompson over the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Curry has eight 40 percent games this postseason, second-most in 76ers history in a postseason. Aaron McKie had 11 in 2001 (in 23 games).
I LOVE SETH CURRY PART II: Curry shot 5-for-9 from 3 in Game 1 (56 percent), 5-for-6 in Game 2 (83 percent), 7-for-12 in Game 5 (58 percent) and 6-for-9 in Game 6 (67 percent). He’s the first player in NBA history with four games over 55 percent on at least six attempts in any postseason series. Derek Fisher (2003) and Jamal Murray (2020) did it three times in 1st-round series and Curry’s current teammate, Danny Green, did it in 2013 for the Spurs in the NBA finals vs. the Heat.
I LOVE SETH CURRY PART III: With his 7-for-12 from 3 on Wednesday and 6-for-9 Friday, Curry became the second player in NBA history with consecutive games making at least six 3's and shooting at least 58 percent. Thompson did it for Golden State against the Rockets in 2016. There's only been one other game in 76ers history where a player made six 3's and shot 58 percent and that was Tobias Harris vs. the Nets in 2019. Now Curry's done it twice in three days.
I LOVE SETH CURRY PART IV: Curry is now 38-for-76 from 3 this postseason for exactly 50 percent. He’s the first player in NBA history to make 38 3’s and shoot at least 50 percent from 3 in the first 11 games of a postseason. The previous high was Jamal Murray’s 48 percent (41-for-86) last year. Curry’s 38 3’s are 12th-most in NBA history in the first 11 games of a postseason. Only seven players in NBA history have made more, including his brother Steph four times.
I LOVE SETH CURRY PART V: Curry is now a ridiculous 28-for-47 from 3 in the Hawks series for 59.6 percent. That’s the highest 3-point percentage through six games of a series in history (minimum 30 attempts). The previous high was Murray’s 57.4 percent in the Nuggets’ first-round series against Utah last year. And the 28 3's is 4th-most ever by a player through six games of a series, trailing only Damian Lillard (35), Donovan Mitchell (31) and Murray (31).
MORE GREAT DEFENSE: For the first time since Feb. 4, the Hawks failed to score 100 points at home, which means it’s the first time they’ve ever failed to score 100 points at home under current coach Nate McMillan, who replaced Lloyd Pierce on March 1. The Hawks had gone 24 straight home games without scoring fewer than 100 and they were 21-3 in those games. It was the Hawks’ longest streak of 100-point home games since a 35-game streak in 1985.
THE MAXEY EFFECT: Tyrese Maxey, who played just 80 seconds during the 76ers’ Game 5 collapse, had 16 points and 7 rebounds off the bench, becoming the 76ers’ first guard with 16 and 7 off the bench in a playoff game since Sedale Threatt had 16 and 7 against the Bullets in 1986. Maxey had only one game during the regular season with 16 and 7 – against the Heat in January (16 and 8). He had more points and rebounds Friday than he had in the first five games of the Hawks series (13 and 4).
BOUNCE-BACK FOR TOBI: After his four-point game Wednesday, Tobias Harris bouned back with 24 points, his 9th game this postseason with at least 20 points. He’s the first 76er with nine 20-point games in the first 11 games of a postseason since Iverson in 2003. The only other 76ers with more 20-point games at this point of a postseason are Hal Greer in 1967 and Wilt Chamberlain in 1965, who had 10.
MORE BAD FOUL SHOOTING: Although they managed to go 15-for-20 in the fourth quarter – including six straight by Maxey and Tobias Harris in the final minute – the 76ers still shot 69.6 percent from the foul line, the fifth time in six games in the series they’ve shot worse than 70 percent. They’re the fifth team ever with five games under 70 percent in the first six games of a conference semifinal series.
WEIRD EMBIID: Joel Embiid was 9-for-24 from the field (38 percent) four days after going 4-for-20 from the field (20 percent). He only had two games during the entire regular season where he took at least 20 shots and shot worse than 40 percent. He’s only had two games in his career where he’s taken 24 shots and shot worse from the field (vs. the Warriors in 2019 and the Bucks last year). But he still scored 22 points
A POSITIVE BEN SIMMONS STAT: Ben Simmons has 93 assists in 11 postseason games this year. That’s the most assists by any 76er in any 11-game span in the postseason since Allen Iverson had 105 in 11 games over the 2003 through 2005 seasons. The last 76er with more assists in the first 11 games of any postseason was Wilt Chamberlain, who had 114 through 11 games in 1967.
