Top Drawer Soccer announced Wednesday that UNC senior defender Julia Ashley has been named its National Player of the Week for her efforts in the Tar Heels’ recent wins over Providence and Marquette.

Ashley helped lead shutouts over both teams as UNC defeated Providence 1-0 and Marquette 4-0, with the team allowing just 11 shots and one corner kick during the victories.

The win over Providence also saw Ashley deliver the game-winning goal, while she also scored and had an assist against Marquette.

Prior to last week, Ashley had tallied just two goals in her entire career for UNC–which has not allowed a goal in its last 379 minutes of action.
