Enjoy chef demonstrations, live music, fall activities and some of the tastiest vegan and vegetarian food in the Lehigh Valley region at the inaugural Easton, Pa. VegFest, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Llantrisant Retreat & Wellness Center in Tatamy.

The harvest food and drink festival celebrates ethical eating, eco-consciousness, animal welfare and healthy living. It is presented by the Kellyn Foundation, a Tatamy nonprofit organization that supports community physical and emotional wellness.

More than 70 vendors will include food and beverage businesses such as Aman’s Bistro, Bananarama, Franklin Hill Vinyeards, Gallows Hill Spirits, Freakin Vegan, Just Vegg’n, Green Lane Naturals + Shankara, Lehigh Valley Kombucha, OMG Smoothies, Tierra de Fuego, Santoro’s Franks, Sweet Doe Bakery, Sweet Kiss Lemonade and Taco Shellys, as well as other companies such as Green Mountain Energy, Naturally Silky Soap and Rockin’ Good Health.

Other highlights include free hayrides, exhibiting artists, pumpkin decorating, vegan beer and wine, line dancing (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.), a belly dance performance (noon), yoga classes ($3 each, noon-5 p.m.) and face-painting, balloon animals and pumpkin decorating in the Harvest Activities Area.

Presenters will discuss topics such as “Food As Medicine” and “Debunking Myths About Vegan Nutrition.”

The festival will be both indoors and outdoors at a collection of buildings along the Bushkill Creek, including Llantrisant at 336 Bushkill St., Northampton Farm Bureau Co-Op, Tatamy Volunteer Fire Company and grist mill buildings. Info: eastonpavegfest.com.
