State football: Mead falls in 4A playoffs to Graham-Kapowsin

From staff reports

Washington Huskies commit Dylan Morris went 18 of 24 for 376 yards and three touchdowns – all 50-plus yards – and sixth-seeded Graham-Kapowsin (10-1) held off 11th-seeded Mead (7-4) 45-38 at Art Crate Stadium in Bethel on Saturday.

Malaki Roberson had nine catches for 247 yards and two TDs.

Mead’s Eli Eldridge kicked an 18-yard field goal with 1:03 left to get the Panthers within seven points and Mead recovered the onside kick, but a pair penalties pushed them back into their own territory and Ryan Blair’s deep ball on fourth down with 7 seconds left fell incomplete.

Blair had found Ryan Chan on a 39-yard touchdown pass to make it a 10-point game and the Panthers used an onside kick to set up Eldridge’s field goal.

Blair finished 30 of 48 for 318 yards with four touchdown passes. Michael Workman had 11 catches for 136 yards and Isaiah Saldana added an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
