Spectre: 5 Things The New James Bond Trailer Got Wrong

Thankfully there's no volcano bases in this one.

Get your acronyms, jumpsuits and Illuminati parallels at the ready - Spectre's coming. After the still-confusing Quantum Of Solace and hitherto-unknown Skyfall, the name of the twenty-fourth Bond movie promises something concrete. Named after the criminal syndicate from the Sean Connery-era movies (and Ian Fleming's original novels), the title's created even more speculation for what was already one of the most anticipated, but also most risky, movies of the year. It's a particularly ballsy move on Sam Mendes' part to return to the 007 franchise after Skyfall. Bond 23 was such an assured meditation on the series' relevance, as well as a great entry in the canon by itself, that it already sits alongside Goldfinger as one of 007's best. Just how do you top that? Well, based on the first trailer for Spectre, it looks like the Oscar-winner has found the answer for that question. Seemingly gloomier than the previous movie, but still bringing that same old mix of modern tropes and Fleming-inspired classicism, it continues the exploration of James Bond the man, once again delving into his mysterious past. But, as much as it builds excitement, the trailer itself is not without its little irritations; odd editing choices or reflections of potential issues with the finished product are present and correct through the short ninety-six minutes. So it's time to play devil's advocate and look at the things Spectre's teaser got wrong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ashLaclKCik
