Slash and Joan Jett hooked up at the Alternative Press Music Awards for a performance of the Rolling Stones classic, "Star Star."
Jett gave a four-song set during the event, bringing Against Me!'s Laura Jane Grace onstage to help with "Soulmates to Strangers."
Both rock legends were honored at the event, as Jett took home the AP Icon Award, while Slash earned the Guitar Legend Award.
"He came up in a generation after mine," Joe Perry of Aerosmith said while introducing Slash, "but he always had a great respect for the musicians who came on before him. To his own generation he became a superstar, and deservedly so. Now, to all generations he has become a model of great guitar playing and an icon in his own right."
For his part, Slash called the honor "very humbling," adding that he "didn't even know exactly what to say."
