So I've gotta head to the Quad Cities this weekend for a family thing. I generally head NE from Atlanta towards St. Louis, and then head up 55 to 155 and the 74 into the QC. Aside from actually heading into St. Louis for the obvious, anything worthwhile along that route that would warrant a stop?

In the QC, I like to head to Bent River (solid in both food and beer..two locations), Great River is a cool spot in Davenport built out in an old garage.Good beer, cool people. Front Street is alright (better food than beer). If you head to Hy Vee, which is the regional grocery store, you'll probably be able to find some fresh/relatively fresh Toppling Goliath bombers to take home. There is a really good beer bar a friend was telling me about but the name escapes me right now :/

I had to go to Geneseo IL last year. I hate to rip on places, but there was not a whole lot going on in the quad cities. There was a really cool minor league baseball stadium and market on Saturday in Davenport though. The only beer place I checked out was Green Tree in Leclaire and it was pretty decent.

If you're willing to shoot past 155 for about 30 minutes and go into Bloomington-Normal (I74 goes thru BloNo, so it's not *that* far out of the way), you've got Destihl, White Oak Brewing, Keg Grove Brewing, and Lil Beaver. All good stuff.

    Went to school out there.

    1) Bent River - good beer/good food
    2) Radicle Effect - typically 2/3 of their own beers on tap with about 10 others offered. Very solid selection and you can buy bottles to go.

I was going to come and post this exact thread since I did some of the recent "heavy lifting."

OP, not sure what kinda time you got for side trips, but I'll second Lil' Beaver. Also, Triptych isn't far from where 74 and 57 intersect. But that's even further out of your path.

Not sure how far out of your way it is, but I’ve heard that Scratch Brewing in Ava, IL is heaven on earth.

+1 to Scratch Brewing, especially if you only have time for one stop.

I'll add White Rooster in Sparta, it's on the way to STL if you already detoured for Scratch. From STL to QC, there's Hand of Fate in Petersburg outside of Springfield, and Bearded Owl in Peoria.

Quad Cities: Wake Brewing and Radicle Effect in Rock Island, Endless Brews in Davenport.

I was going to mention White Rooster too - but I've only had bottles up here in Chicagoland - I wasn't sure they even had an "open to the public" space. Good to know (for my own future reference!).
