LUMBERTON — Two men have been charged in an armed robbery of a store in Orrum, the Robeson County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.

Deputies responded about 4 p.m. Monday to a report of an armed robbery at Oakridge Grocery and Fish Market at 6730 Wiregrass Road, about five miles east of Fairmont, a Sheriff's Office release said.

Lawmen were given a description of a blue 1990 Buick, which left the scene and was found at the 6-mile marker of Interstate 95 South, the release said. Two men, identified as suspects in the robbery, were in the vehicle and arrested.

Daniel Wilson Bethea, 24, of Richland County in South Carolina, had been shot. Gregory Eugene Davis, 25, of the 1000 block of East Whitepond Road in Fairmont, was also in the Buick. Each is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy and kidnapping, the release said. Bethea, who was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center and transferred to another facility, also is charged with assault by pointing a gun.

Bail for Davis, also charged with misdemeanor assault and battery and possession of firearm by a felon, was set at $1 million.

Anyone with information should call the Sheriff's Office at 910-671-3845.
