Police investigating triple shooting at house party in Adrian

ADRIAN, MI – Police are investigating what led to the shooting of three people attending a late-night house party in Adrian Tuesday.

Police were called shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, for a report of shots fired in the 200 block of S. McKenzie Road, according to the Adrian Police Department.

Officers arriving in the area found one gunshot victim along with several witness who stated there were two other victims who were already taken to Bixby Hospital in Adrian before officers arrived, police said.

Witnesses told investigators everyone was attending a small gathering at the home when someone began shooting into the house from the outside, hitting the three victims, police said.

Investigators collected evidence at the scene suggesting at least two people were involved in the shooting, police said.

One of the victims is still being treated at Bixby Hospital while the other two were transferred to Toledo Hospital in Ohio for further treatment. Their current conditions are unknown at this time, police said.

No arrests have been made and the shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Det. Sgt. Lamar Rufner at 517-264-4808.

The Michigan State Police, Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office, Madison Township Police Department and the Raisin Township Police Department assisted at the scene.
