Storytelling Festival: The Cumberland County Public Library Storytelling Festival takes place through the month of March at all branches. Programs for all ages include hands-on activities and crafts. March for Meals: The Cumberland County Council on Older Adults is participating in the national March for Meals during the month of March. The celebration will include various activities, including partnering with Food Lion for a distribution of fresh fruit on March 22. Bragg'N'Barn Scholarships: The Bragg’N’Barn Thrift Shop is accepting scholarship applications from high school seniors and continuing education students pursuing a degree at an accredited two- or four-year college or university. Eligible applicants must be dependents or spouses of active duty or reserve service members assigned to Fort Bragg or dependents of retired service members whose last duty station was Fort Bragg or Pope Army Airfield and who still live within a 50-mile radius of Fort Bragg. Genealogy 101: March 9, 1 p.m., Headquarters Library, Maiden Lane. Staff present tips for researching your ancestry. The Cumberland County Genealogical Society meeting will follow at 2 p.m. and a genealogy round table with experts will follow the meeting.

Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra: March 9, Huff Concert Hall, Methodist University. The orchestra performs FSO, March!, a tribute to the Armed Forces with portions of the concert side-by-side with students of the Fayetteville Symphony Youth Orchestra program. Healing Waters Fly Fishing: Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Inc. is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities, including education and outings. Energy Assistance: The Salvation Army is accepting applications for the N.C. Low Income Energy Assistance Program to help qualified families with their heating costs. Low-income households may apply for assistance through March 29, or until funds are exhausted. Treasures of Carolina: A new exhibit showcasing one-of-a-kind documents, maps, photographs, historic war-era posters, and other items from the N.C. Warhol Exhibit: The David McCune International Art Gallery at Methodist University has an exhibit of Andy Warhol silkscreen print masterworks on display through April 12. United Way Volunteer Opportunity: United Way of Cumberland County is currently seeking volunteers to serve on Community Impact Review Panels. Childbirth and Infant Care Classes: FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital's Women & Children's department offers classes on childbirth, infant care, breastfeeding and new siblings at various dates and times, including evenings and Saturdays. Designing Station: The nonprofit furniture bank serving Cumberland and Robeson counties is in need of new and gently used household furnishings including beds and frames of all sizes, pots, pans, dishes, curtains, lamps, rugs, irons and ironing boards as well as monetary donations. They do not accept damaged or stained items, used mattresses, pillows and cribs, toys, books and older televisions. For information, call 910-321-2814 or go to designing station.org.

Stanton Hospitality House: Canned meats, cereal, Pop-Tarts, plastic and paper items, fruit or pudding cups, coffee, water, crackers, cookies, microwaveable meals and monetary donations are needed. Stanton Hospitality House provides housing for family members of local hospital patients, especially those in ICU, NICU or a treatment center. Operation Blessing: Men's and women's underwear, men's shoes and 33 gallon black trash bags are needed as well as monetary donations, which are tax-deductible. Volunteers are also needed. The CARE Clinic: Free basic health care services to uninsured, low-income adult residents of Cumberland County and surrounding areas. Services include basic medical care, dental extractions and clinic-ordered prescription medications. Clinics are held Tuesdays and Thursdays and the second and fourth Wednesdays after 5 p.m. A diabetic clinic is held Tuesday afternoons. To schedule an appointment, call 910-485-0555.
