Clowns? Witches? Nah, these Halloween costumes will help you get your geek on come Oct. 31.

Halloween is the day to let your geek flag fly.

There are already enough clowns, princesses, zombies, and ghosts roaming around on All Hallow's Eve. What you need to do is represent the geekdom.

Geek culture is everywhere, and Halloween night should be no exception.

Be the biggest nerd or geek you can be, and you won't just have a great time on Halloween—you'll brighten the night of every other grown person you come across who's also dressed as a cartoon character, historical figure, or popular meme.

The internet is awash in geeky costume ideas. So take some inspiration from the ensembles in our slideshow, all of which are readily available online, at a brick-and-mortar costume shop, or DIY-able.

1. Justice League

Justice League

You can't save the world alone. Nor can you win "best team costume" at a Halloween party alone. The Justice League-as-fancy-dress isn't exactly new (The Big Bang Theory crew earned some laughs with their DC comic cosplay in season four). But superheroes never go out of style. And the upcoming Justice League film ensures an abundance of in-store and online purchase options.

2. Rick & Morty

Rick & Morty
From the minds of Justin Roiland (Adventure Time) and Dan Harmon (Community) come one of the most likely Halloween costumes of the season. Expect to see plenty of wild-blue-haired Rick Sanchezes and yellow-shirted, big-eyed Morty Smiths this year. (And follow all the Rick & Morty news over on our sister site, Geek.com.)

3. Tardis

Tardis
Earth can't be the only planet that hands out candy to strangers once a year. Why not travel through all of space and time in your handy blue box. After all, it is bigger on the inside. (Bonus: Take your baby for the ride in this DIY TARDIS costume.)

4. Riverdale

Riverdale
Season two of The CW's teen drama returned this month with as much mystery and angst as Archie & Friends can deliver. And dressing up as the beloved characters is as easy as Pop's pie. All you need is a gray crown beanie, a string of pearls, and some pussycat ears.

5. Ada Lovelace

Ada Lovelace
Stay warm and represent women in STEM this Halloween as Ada Byron Lovelace—mathematical genius, scientific visionary, and hella stylish lady. You'll need an ivory satin chemise, some crinoline, a flowing robe, and gold tiara. As well as a vague familiarity with Lovelace, so you can confidently throw down some knowledge when party guests inevitably ask, "So, who are you?"

6. Shirtless Mario

For 32 years, the world's best-known plumber has hidden behind bulky overalls. Now, Mario is freeing the nipple—and you can, too. Dress up (er, down) as Nintendo's Italian hero this Halloween in a pair of red-and-white-polka-dot shorts, a full mustache, monogrammed hat, and nothing else. Keep in mind: This costume (or lack thereof) may be best suited for trick-or-treaters in more tropical climates.

7. The Handmaid's Tale

The Handmaid's Tale
Originally published in 1986, Margaret Atwood's dystopian novel-cum-award-winning Hulu TV series is topical as ever. Join the resistance—and make a statement about women's rights—with this easy-to-make handmaid costume: red cloak, white bonnet, tan mesh bag, black ankle boots, stern-yet-frightened face. (And add these shows to your queue as you wait for season two.)

8. Stranger Things

Stranger Things
Stranger Things dominated 2016 Halloween festivities. But with the imminent return of the show's second season on Oct. 27, it's the perfect time to recreate your favorite every-day heroes from Hawkins, Indiana. (Check out these other trippy shows while you wait.)

9. Distracted Boyfriend Meme

Distracted Boyfriend Meme

Three's a crowd. But not for this meme costume. From stock photo to internet phenomenon, the "Disloyal man with his girlfriend looking at another girl" image has gone viral. Stick with the original, or add your own captions. Just make sure whoever is playing said "distracted boyfriend" practices their over-the-shoulder ogling face.

10. Snap Dancing Hot Dog

Snap Dancing Hot Dog
Snap Inc. calls itself "a camera company," but it's also a...costume company? As CNBC reports, an Amazon listing from Snap, Inc. is selling the cartoon character that Snapchat users have been adding to their snaps since June. At $80, though, you really need to love this character.
