Jon Gosselin details new career as a DJ

READING, Pa., Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Jon Gosselin says he is loving his new career.

The 37-year-old former reality star is performing as DJ Jon Gosselin in cities near his home in Reading, Penn. Gosselin came to fame with ex-wife Kate Gosselin on TLC series Jon & Kate Plus 8, but left the show after the couple divorced in 2009.

"The hours are great," he told People magazine. "I get to go out, have a good time with all my friends, play the music I like to hear and have the day to myself ... [The fame is] not going away, so I figure I'm just going to take advantage of it."

Gosselin works between 12 and 15 events a month, and generally plays a mix of music from different decades. He has DJed at The Bally Hotel in Bally, Penn., and will perform February 6 at the Sportsmen's Cafe in Allentown, Penn.

Jon & Kate Plus 8 was renamed Kate Plus 8, and premiered new episodes Jan. 13. The series follows Kate Gosselin in her day-to-day life with twins Cara and Madelyn, and sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel.
