The Giants poked Matthew Stafford in the eye after forcing a fumble

Not many quarterbacks opt to wear helmet visors, but Matthew Stafford might want to consider giving one a shot.

During the second quarter of Monday’s Lions-Giants game, the New York pass rush got to Stafford and forced a fumble. The Lions quarterback emerged from the turf holding his eye, and upon seeing the replay, it was clear what happened.

The Giants poked him right in the eye.

Initially, the ESPN broadcast suspected that Jason Pierre-Paul poked Stafford, but it was instead linebacker Devon Kennard.

Stafford would be OK, and the Lions forced a turnover the next play.
