Tulsa Police: 2 Arrested After Carjacking And Chase

Broken Arrow police have 2 people in custody connected to a carjacking and kidnapping. The victim told police he escaped the kidnappers after hours in the car with them.

The victim said he was forced into his own car at gunpoint and driven around for hours before he got away.

The police converged on the red car. It was stolen, and they caught up with it in East Tulsa. Police made two arrests at the scene.

It was the end of a police chase that started across town and a kidnapping that happened several hours before in Broken Arrow. The victim told police he was gassing up at a Fiesta Mart at 91st and Garnett when three people first asked for money then, at gunpoint, made him get into the car.

The victim told police when the robbers recognized he didn't have any cash they drove him around town to several ATMs trying to get cash that way. And when that didn't work, he took them to the casino.

At River Spirit, the victim said he told the kidnappers he could get a cash advance, but that didn't work.

"The suspect had walked the victim into the casino and then walking out of the casino, the victim walked back inside and asked for help," said Officer James Koch.

Broken Arrow Police said the victim's plan to get around other people and get away could have saved his life.

“He was very fortunate to have been able to break free and run and call for help,” said Koch.

Creek Nation Police found the stolen car not far from the casino, but the suspects led officers on a chase that ended near Catoosa. Police arrested 19-year-old Mariah Coyle for robbery and kidnapping. An underage boy was also arrested at the scene.

Broken Arrow police said Coyle admitted the plan to rob the victim, though she had a different story of how it started; through a dating app.
Broken Arrow police are still trying to identify and locate the third person involved.
