The Uno Pizzeria & Grill in Clay appears to have suddenly closed, which makes it the chain's second central New York location in two years to shut its doors.

The restaurant is located at 3974 State Route 31, in between Smokey Bones Bar and Fire Grill and Longhorn Steak House.

Numerous calls to the Clay store went unanswered on Monday and the chain's website removed the restaurant, which it labeled as Liverpool, from its listing of locations. The Clay location's Facebook page is also now inaccessible.

An employee at nearby Smokey Bones also told CNYCentral that the Uno parking lot was empty. A sign on the door at the restaurant directed customers to another location.

Inquiries to Uno corporate office in Boston were not returned as of Monday evening.

Uno Pizzeria and Grill, known for its Chicago-style deep-dish pizza, opened in 1943 in its namesake city.

The chain suddenly closed its location at Destiny USA in January 2017.

Another location remains open at Towne Drive in Fayetteville.
