Georgia Symphony To Play Valentine's Show In Cobb

The concert, at Kennesaw State University, is meant to "create the perfect atmosphere to share with someone special."

KENNESAW, GA — The Georgia Symphony Orchestra is bringing a special performance for Valentine's Day weekend to Cobb County.

The orchestra will open the second half of its 67th season with "Heartstrings," an evening of string music, on Saturday, Feb. 10, at Bailey Performance Center at Kennesaw State University. The performance will feature music by composers such as Mahler, Mendelssohn and Debussy.

The show is designed to "create the perfect atmosphere to share with someone special," according to the orchestra. Principal harpist Julie Koenig will be featured in Claud Debussy's "Danse Sacree et Danse Profane."

The concert is scheduled for 8 p.m. Tickets are $20-30 for adults and student tickets are $10. They may be purchased at 770-429-2390 or at the Georgia Symphony Orchestra website.

The Georgia Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1951, and performs for more than 17,000 people
each year. Its mission is to engage and enrich diverse audiences through the presentation of music at the
highest artistic level and to provide programs and education that instill a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
