High wind watch Thursday in western Oklahoma

A high wind watch is in effect for Thursday in western Oklahoma where winds could gust up to 60, the National Weather Service reported.

The watch is for 6 a.m. to midnight Thursday for Alfalfa, Beckham, Blaine, Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Dewey, Ellis, Harper, Major, Roger Mills, Tillman, Washita, Woods and Woodward counties.

North winds of 30-40 mph could gust up to 60 mph in western Oklahoma, the weather service reported.

Central Oklahoma is not included in the high wind watch, but winds could gust up to 55 mph in parts of Oklahoma City on Thursday. There is a 50 percent chance for rain and snow Thursday, but no snow is expected to accumulate in Oklahoma City.
