Accused Largo Walmart Purse Thieves Apprehended

The Largo Police Department has arrested two women who reportedly robbed and seriously injured a Walmart shopper.

LARGO, FL -- The Largo Police Department arrested two women who reportedly robbed and seriously injured a shopper in the Walmart parking lot, 2677 Roosevelt Blvd., Largo.

According to Largo Police, on July 8 at 6:41 a.m., Tanesha Gary, 37, and Shanan Diaz, 38, pulled up in the Walmart parking lot in a 2017 Hyundai Elantra next to a 53-year-old shopper who was in a motorized shopping cart and grabbed her purse. The victim hung on to the purse as the thieves got back into the car and she was partially dragged as the car took off, causing serious injuries.

According to Largo Police, Gary is a career offender and Diaz, the owner and driver of the car, has active felony warrants out of Lee County.
