Brick Couple Seeks Repayment After Car Wash Crash

Their Jeep's throttle got stuck, causing it to crash while the car wash attendant was driving. They want someone to pay their deductible.

BRICK, NJ — A Brick Township family whose SUV was totalled when the throttle got stuck while a car wash attendant was driving it is trying to recover their $750 insurance deductible from the car wash, according to a report.

Antonio and Becky Rivera of Brick said the 2006 Jeep Commander crashed during a trip to the Country Sudser Car Wash on Cedar Bridge Avenue in January when the throttle got stuck, according to NJ.com.

The Jeep, purchased used last November, was totaled, and their car insurance covered all but the $750 deductible, the report said. The insurance company suggested they contact the car wash, since the attendant was driving it at the time.
