GTA 6 Rumors And Theories: Story To Take Place In Portland Or Houston; Mexican Cartels, Rednecks, And Cowboys The New Villains?

Rockstar finally announced that "GTA V" for PC and the "GTA Online Heist DLC" will be released on March 10 and April 14, respectively. There's no question on how successful "GTA V" has become since its release and now, it seems like Rockstar is ready to move on to the next project.

Multiple rumors of "GTA 6" in development have been circulating online. The first question a GTA fan would probably ask is where would be the game's next setting? Looking at the previous games, the city where the story took place is stated in the title, with the exception of "GTA V," which was held at Los Santos.

So where is the perfect location for the sixth installment? Real estate blog Movoto pointed out why Portland would be the ideal city for the next GTA game. According to the website:

"To be fair, Portland wasn't our first choice either. We looked at several cities, trying to see which one would be a great place to steal cars in. It's hard to argue with numbers, and the numbers show that not only is Portland a great choice for the next 'GTA,' but also that Portland probably would have actually been a better choice than that lame-sauce city Los Whateveros."

Another popular setting for fans is Houston. A Redditor by the name of m15wallis suggested in the "GTA 6" forum how ideal and vast the city is. He went on to share how rich the culture of Texas is as it is filled with rural areas and urban areas.

In terms of people living in the city, what Houston has to offer is something unseen in the past "GTA" series. The Redditor referred to the Mexican cartels, the organized crimes and the presence of Rednecks and cowboys and said that would make the story more compelling.
