American Red Cross had 112 Pa. volunteers assisting in hurricane relief efforts

The American Red Cross said their hurricane relief efforts of staff and volunteers from Pennsylvania is at 112 people so far.

Of those people, 45 are still deployed to the areas hit by hurricanes Florence and Michael, in the southeastern United States.

The Red Cross said volunteers are involved in sheltering and feeding those affected and working in logistics, health and mental health services.

"We are fortunate to have a number of local volunteers who have assumed leadership roles for the national assignment, " the Red Cross said in a statement.

The Red Cross said so far, they and their partners have provided more than 150,000 overnight shelter stays, served more than 1.87 million meals and snacks, handed out 340,000 relief supplies and offered 55,00 health and mental health services and referrals.
