Tricky Weekend Weather For Poughkeepsie

Not a nor'easter but still bringing rain and possibly fog and ice around Beacon and Newburgh, forecasters say.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Looks as if we may dodge the big storm meteorologists had predicted for this weekend. But don't relax yet. Though not heavy rain, we will see some showers.

Also, because temps are rising, there could be fog. Then, the high-pressure system keeping the storm to our south and east will bring cold air into the region. "A tricky 72 hours of weather for us to monitor," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.

AccuWeather recommends checking with airlines around New York City and smaller airports like Westchester and Stewart. Foggy episodes would also force some motorists to slow down.
