Republicans Aaron Dekock and Crystal McIntyre were elected to the Warren County Board of Supervisors in Tuesday's election.

Dekock received 54 percent of the vote to defeat Democrat Skip Phillips in District 1, which includes the northwest corner of the county, including the cities of Martensdale and Norwalk.

Dekock defeated Warren County Supervisor Dean Yordi in a June primary.

Dekock, 37, is an attorney in Norwalk. In a pre-election questionnaire he said his top priority will be to restore trust in the Warren County board.

“For too many years, the decisions from our Board of Supervisors have created a lack of trust,” he said. “I will make every single meeting live-streamed. I will also press the board to mix in evening meetings so that people who are working during the day have the opportunity to personally attend the meetings.”

The county's 911 emergency response system and secondary roads will also be priorities, he said.

McIntyre, an incumbent, received 64 percent of the vote to beat Democrat Don Davis.

McIntyre, 48, represents District 2, which includes much of rural Warren County and Carlisle. She was first elected to the board in 2014.

McIntyre said her top three priorities are to keep the new county courthouse and jail within budget, to provide for a county-wide 911 communications system and to fund and properly staff the county engineer department.

Both Dekock and McIntyre said during candidate forums that they were open to raising county taxes to better provide for county needs.
