Attempted Shell Robber Sought In Woodbridge: Police

Authorities are looking for a man who tried to rob a Shell service station early Monday in Woodbridge, according to PWC Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA—Authorities are looking for a man who tried to rob the Shell service station early Monday at 12871 Gordon Boulevard, according to Prince William County Police. He's described as white, 45-50, 5-6 with a heavy build and brown hair. He was wearing a black and grey jacket, blue jeans and a multi-colored scarf.

Around 12:44 a.m., police went to the business for a reported attempted robbery. An employee said an unknown man went to the secured counter area and gave workers a note implying he had a handgun and demanding money. When it became clear to the man that because of the secured counter window he'd not be able to further advance the robbery attempt, he fled empty-handed.

No weapon was displayed, and a police K-9 unit searched the area to no avail. Anyone with information is urged to call police at 703-792-6500.
