Take one look at Eva Longoria's Instagram, and it's easy to see where her priorities lie: her six-month-old son, Santiago, and supporting other women.

It doesn't come as a surprise then that the actress, 43, spends much of her time lifting up others, both literally (if we're talking about Santiago) and figuratively, through her own forms of empowerment. And she did just that last night, at L'Oréal's Women of Worth event, where she presented an award to Shreya Matha, 17, who founded North Carolina's Foundation for Girls in order to help girls in crisis. To date, Matha has come to the aid of refugees, teen moms, and survivors, and has raised more than $135,000 for her cause.

According to Longoria, the meaning behind L'Oréal's slogan is about empowerment. When welcoming Matha, the star said, "'Because You’re Worth It'" is not just a tagline for us; it’s an ethos of the brand and it exists to lift up women, to give them confidence and celebrate them. It's more than lipstick, it's more than a hair color. It's to make sure that you understand you're worthy of great products, you're worthy of great people, you're worthy of great career and success."

Ahead of the beauty giant's thirteenth annual event, Longoria, a longtime face of the brand, shared just how important the event is each year. "We honor women who are doing amazing things in their communities. They’re not rich, they’re not famous, they’re just human beings who are concerned for other people," she said. "Every year they have boxes of tissues on the table, because you will bawl your eyes out listening to the differences these women are making in people's lives."

On top of that, we also caught up with her to talk more about motherhood and self-care, and have her answer all our Big Beauty Questions.

Glamour: How has becoming a mother changed your sense of self?

Eva Longoria: It’s changed everything in my life process and everything else in a beautiful way. It just makes you want to work twice as hard to make this world a better place. Because the fact is that I’m going to leave it to him, so I want to make some kind of dent in making sure it’s a world that he would be proud of.

Glamour: In a post-#MeToo world, what do you hope to teach your son about women?

EL: I want to raise him with the idea that women are equal to men. That's very simple. What she can do, you can do, and what you can do, she can do. The opportunity he has, she can have as well. I just want to raise him with that mentality.

Glamour: How do you hope to see Latina representation in beauty evolve in the future?

EL: I’m really lucky to be with L’Oréal, who has a rainbow of diversity with their spokespeople. Early on, they recognized that there are so many communities in beauty throughout the world, and it’s defined in different ways. In Hollywood we definitely need to improve representation not only in front of the camera but also behind the camera. That’s an ongoing struggle, but we’re making some dents with Time's Up movement.

Glamour: What products are a must in your beauty routine, no matter how much time you have?

EL: My RevitaLift creams. I’m a big face cream ($18), serum ($30), and eye cream ($18) person. Just using that entire line is a must in the morning and at night. I’m pretty religious about it. And the other big thing is sunblock—I wear it every day.

Glamour: What’s one beauty product that makes you feel your most powerful?

EL: A good red lip makes me feel like I can do anything.

Glamour: How has motherhood changed your beauty routine?

EL: I wear less red lips! Definitely less lipstick and foundation. I’m constantly kissing, and he’s constantly grabbing my face. So right now it’s all about the lashes.

Glamour: What's your go-to mascara then?

EL: Oh God, Voluminous Carbon Black ($8). It’s my favorite ever. It’s the blackest black.

Glamour: What's the last beauty product you bought?

EL: Infallible foundation ($15). It’s honestly my favorite, and it’s at the drugstore. Usually L’Oréal sends me all my products, but I had run out, and I was like, "I’m just going to run and go get it." It’s awesome.

Glamour: Do you get facials or massages regularly?

EL: All of it! I get massages every week, and I get facials every week. I really do a lot of self-care. I go to Lea Eigard in Beverly Hills for facials. She’s amazing.

Glamour: How do you unwind after a long day?

EL: A glass of wine and a hot bath. I love taking baths with Lush bath bombs—I buy them in bulk. And I love incense. It’s definitely like a ritual for me. It’s my "me time."
