The Racine Concert Band and the Case High School bands will perform a joint concert in the Case High School Theater at 7:30 Tuesday night.
The Racine Concert Band — the city of Racine’s official band, which also features several musicians from Kenosha — celebrates the centennial of Leonard Bernstein’s birth with a performance of “Four Dances from “West Side Story.”
Mark Eichner is the group’s music director. He was the director of bands at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside for more than 30 years, retiring in May of 2014.
Also on the program: UW-Stevens Point composer Charles Young’s “Songs without Words,” “Bandanna Overture” by Daron Hagen, “A Neapolitan Dance” by Jules Massenet and “Perfect Trip” by Patrick Burns.
The Case Wind Ensemble, conducted by Cynthia Banaszak, will join the band for “Cajun Folk Dances.”
