Big Wheel Race Coming To Mundelein This June

From Mundelein Park & Recreation District: Kids ages 3 - 7 can burn some rubber (plastic) at Mundelein Park District’s 2nd Annual Big Wheel Race at Community Park (1401 N. Midlothian Road) on June 20 at 6 pm. A race course will be set up in the parking lot and Big Wheels will be provided. Children will be divided into three separate age groups to compete for a first, second and third place award. Register online by June 13 at www.mundeleinparks.org/BigWheel for a reduced rate. Cost $8/resident or $10 nonresident. June 14-20 rate is $10 resident or $12 nonresident. Proceeds from the race benefit the Mundelein Parks Foundation, an organization that provides recreational scholarships and supports special projects.

After the race, hang around for our free family-friendly Movie in the Park at dusk! The feature will be computer animated adventure film Wonder Park. It tells the story of a magnificent amusement park where the imagination of a wildly creative girl named June comes alive. Characters are voiced by Brianna Denski, Matthew Broderick, Jennifer Garner, Ken Hudson Campbell, Kenan Thompson, Ken Jeong, Mila Kunis, John Oliver, Kath Soucie, Norbert Leo Butz, and Kevin Chamberlin.

Pack a blanket, bug spray and flashlight and claim your spot on the sled hill to chill out and enjoy the movie under the stars!

Thanks to “Best Picture Partner” Graber & Gyllenhaal Orthodontics for helping to bring this free event to Mundelein. Limited snacks will be available for purchase. In case of inclement weather, the movie will be moved indoors to the Dunbar Recreation Center gymnasium (888 Dunbar Road).
