The Web.com Tour Championship will remain on the First Coast through at least 2021.

The PGA Tour announced Wednesday a four-year deal for Atlantic Beach Country Club to continue hosting the season-ending event.

The tournament moved to Atlantic Beach in 2016, with this year's event set for Sept. 20-23.

The Web.com Tour provides a path to the PGA Tour, with up to 50 players earning PGA Tour cards at the end of each year.

"We feel this is the perfect location for the Web.com Tour Championship, given its significance along with the commitment that the PGA Tour and Web.Com have to the North Florida area,'' said Web.com Tour President Dan Glod. "Atlantic Beach Country Club and the entire Atlantic Beach community have embraced the Web.Com Tour Championship.''

The inaugural Web.Com Tour Championship was played in 1993 at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in Oregon, and then moved to a handful of venues over the next 22 years. The tournament was held at Dye Valley's Course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach from 2013-15 and moved to Atlantic Beach CC the following year.

Jonathan Byrd won last year's event by two strokes over Shawn Stefani and Atlantic Beach resident Sam Saunders, who shot an opening round 12-under par 59.

"Partnering with the PGA Tour to host this great event offers a unique and exciting opportunity for our members and guests to enjoy and cheer on future PGA Tour stars and support the club's mission as a positive member of the Beaches community,'' said Atlantic Beach Country Club President Andy Pitler.
