Man shot in the hand in St. Claude neighborhood

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department is on the scene of a shooting in the St. Claude neighborhood.

Police reported the shooting at 1:20 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, a man was shot in the hand near the intersection of North Villere Street and St. Ferdinand Street.

The victim told police that he was riding his motorcycle in the area when he pulled up behind an unknown vehicle at the intersection. The passenger got out of the vehicle and began firing shots at him. He was struck in the hand and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators are working to determine a suspect and motive in the shooting.
