Annual football classic between Prairie View A&M and Grambling State is Saturday at Fair Park

In addition to the annual game at the Cotton Bowl, activities include a pep rally, golf tournament, scholarship gala, battle of high school bands and a pre-game concert.

If you haven't made plans for the can't-miss-it annual Southwest Airlines State Fair Classic football matchup between rivals Prairie View A&M and Grambling State universities, here are schedule highlights. The game kicks off at 4 p.m. Saturday at Fair Park's Cotton Bowl stadium.

6 a.m.: Pep rally at Klyde Warren Park, 2012 Woodall Rodgers Fwy. near Pearl Street.

6:30 p.m.: Prairie View's Dallas alumni chapter holds its 20th annual Athletics Scholarship & Stadium Gala at the Marriot City Center Hotel, 650 N. Pearl St. in downtown Dallas.

7:30 a.m.: The High School Battle of the Bands, sponsored by Grambling State's Dallas alumni chapter, will be held at Lancaster High School, 200 E. Wintergreen Road.

2 p.m.: A pre-game concert featuring soul-R&B artist Jazmine Sullivan is scheduled at the State Fair of Texas' Chevrolet Main Stage at Fair Park.
