Puerto Rican musician José Feliciano was seen greeting a young guitar student at a music shop in Westport, Conn., Friday afternoon.
At the Westport Music Center, the “Feliz Navidad” singer, 72, was “sitting outside the music teachers’ office with shaggy hair and sandals and his wife by his side,” a spy told Page Six. “He seemed like a nice guy.”
A teacher came over with a teen music student and introduced Feliciano as “one of the best guitar players in the world.”
“José was friendly and the music teacher introduced the student as ‘quite the blues guitarist.'”
The student was “very enthusiastic,” our source said.
While most store patrons didn’t seem to recognize the hit-maker, who was born blind, he seemed to be “old buddies with the music shop peeps,” the spy said.
He even recommended that the student try out a steel guitar before leaving the store.
We’re told the couple drove off in a shiny Benz.
Feliciano, who is also known for his version of The Doors’ “Light my Fire,” lives in a neighboring town and according to another source, is “known around the community” for doing tons of local fundraisers.
