She looks set to beat off a host of top names to land the coveted role after becoming the producers' top choice to play the politician in Rodham.

Sources have told the Hollywood Reporter the English starlet is set to pip a host of American names, including Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Chastain and Emma Stone.
It would be an especially bitter blow for the Avengers star, as the staunch Democrat gave a speech at the Democratic National Convention to drum up support for Barack Obama's reelection campaign last year.
She is set to have a sit-down with director James Ponsoldt, whose credits include The Spectacular Now, and it is said both sides are eager to move beyond discussions.
However there is still hope for others who are in the mix, as no final decision has been made.

The indie drama will showcase the future Secretary of State as a young lawyer on the committee involved in President Richard Nixon's impeachment.
It will show her struggling to juggle her career with her unresolved feelings for future husband and president Bill Clinton.
Londoner Carey has emerged as one of the most in-demand young actress in Hollywood, and she is currently appearing in cinemas opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Great Gatsby.
The role of a young Hillary is one of the most sought-after among thespians under the age of 40 in recent years.

Mulligan, whose recent credits include Shame, Drive and Never Let Me Go, will next appear in the Coen brothers' Inside Llewyn Davis.
Young Il Kim, who majored in economics at Harvard and worked in the dotcom world after university wrote the script, which made it onto the 2012 Black List for unproduced screenplays.
Richard Arlook is producing alongside Temple Hill's Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen and UTA, which reps Kim and Ponsoldt, is handling domestic distribution rights.
