The Los Angeles Rams will take on the Dallas Cowboys Saturday night in Hawaii for their second game of preseason.

From a realistic perspective, it seemed highly unlikely that key starters such as Jared Goff or Todd Gurley would see any action during the preseason for the Los Angeles Rams to avoid any sort of unnecessary injury.

As difficult as this time of year can be for some football fans since all they want is the real action in September, hopefully the Rams backups can figure out a way to play a little better during Saturday’s contest in Hawaii against the Dallas Cowboys.

Otherwise, it could end up being another boring game for Los Angeles after the offense failed to find the end zone even once during the Week 1 loss to the Oakland Raiders.

But back to Goff and Gurley, who will apparently not only be resting during Saturday’s game against the Cowboys, but also won’t be making the trip to Hawaii.

Goff and Gurley may be disappointed over not making the trip to one of the most beautiful places in the world, but also it’s good to see Los Angeles make this decision so the two stars can avoid the unnecessary travel.

After coming up short the way they did in Super Bowl 53 last February in which they failed to record a single touchdown against the New England Patriots, the pressure will be higher than ever for the Rams heading into the 2019 season.

While Goff looks to continue making a case for himself as becoming a top-10 quarterback in the NFL, all eyes will be on Gurley as well after the team spent the entire offseason being extra cautious over his knee.

On paper, Los Angeles has the potential to emerge as one of the top offenses once again for a third year in a row, and even though Goff along with Gurley missing out on a trip to Hawaii may not seem like that big of a deal, this could benefit the team.

With an opportunity to avoid the extra travel while taking advantage of continuing to workout at home, here’s to hoping Goff and Gurley use the time to continue for what’s most important, which is Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers.
